At this point, I don’t think chokers are going anywhere in the fashion world for a long time. We’ve seen velvet ones, the 90s-esque plastic ones and even ones that seriously just looked like strings.
The choker has been around for decades. The reason they became so big? Their ability to both conceal the neck and to highlight it, and that’s why they’re still being worn all over today.
This season, on the runway, metal chokers were seen that felt both elegant and classy, but also had a fabulous boldness. Marni, Versace and McQueen all had this bold look.
How To Wear The Metal Choker Trend
If you’re just getting in on the choker trend, you’re going to have a ton to sort through until you find the one that suits you. Luckily, there are endless options out there for all price points.
Try a simple thin chain if you like to keep your accessories to a minimum, which also looks so fresh with a bold lip.
Don’t be afraid to layer metals and thicknesses too, or pair a choker with a slightly longer necklace with a pendant.
If you want to soften the look of the metal choker, trying pairing it with a silk scarf. Plus, these are still on trend for 2019 and I love when trends can come together!
