SUIT UP: Modern Suiting

Suits and sets are two of my favorite trends that have made a serious comeback. They take all of the guesswork out of building an outfit. They always look polished and pulled together and require very little mindshare (which is obviously at a premium these days). I typically prefer a suit with a slouch vs. something on the skinnier side. I have a couple of go to brands I want to share; one high, and one more affordable.

1)     Anine Bing makes this white pinstripe suit as well as the black one and they are clearly so versatile. Pair with this Stuart Weitzman pearl combat boot and fun Re/Done tee for something more casual or layer with Baublebar gold links for a “serious” business meeting look.

2)     ASOS is where I found this cherry red suit and it is a super affordable option at $40! I added some white accessories like these Amazon heart shaped sunglasses and Bottega Veneta bag. I love it with a simple black bodysuit from Reformation and a white Stuart Weitzman loafers.

Here are my 5 tips to make a suit feel less stuffy:

1)     Wear with a pair of Vans funky sneakers

2)     Wear a Free & Easy hoodie under the blazer

3)     Pair with a Madewell beanie

4)     Roll up the sleeves and pant cuffs

5)     Wear an unexpected tee underneath from Ganni
