Swim Team

As we are edging into the real days of summer, I am happy to say that I have traded my daily sweats and loungewear for suits. No, not those kinds of suits, silly! Bathing suits. You still won’t catch me in pants with a button…

I basically spend all summer in the pool or at the beach which means my bathing suits are just my daily uniform. I tend to stick with suits that have ample coverage so that I can move around with ease and ensure that no bits and bobs are falling out. One of my go to hacks for bathing suits is treating them like a bodysuit. I love a bathing suit as body suit look. with denim shorts and flowy robe to top it off. You never know when you will be going to an impromtu pool party.

HUNZA G Jean Seersucker Bandeau Bikini - Lilac

Some of my favorite monochromatic suits are this purple bandeau bikini from Hazanga G. (paired with this fun green and white cover up from off white) and this brown bandeau and orange robe combo from Adrianna DeGrasas.

If I want to wear something printed, I gravitate towards this emerald green, floral print from Zimmerman or this dotty, bathing beauty 2-piece from Mara Hoffman. I love pairing the polka dots with this gauzy coverup from Kamperett that I got at McMullen, it really just takes it to the next level.

Show me your Flare

We’ve been mom jean-ing for a few seasons now and I am feeling like it’s time for some FLARE again. Flares originated in the 60s / 70’s, took flight in the 80s, and definitely made an appearance in the early aughts. Those early decades all featured the high-waisted flare (which I personally prefer), while the early 00s specialized in the low-waisted style which feels a little passé. I recently pulled out my flare jeans and was reminded how much they elongate the leg and look great with a heel.

Chatting with Elyse Walker

When she decided to open her first store in 1999 in Los Angeles, Elyse Walker set out to create a retail experience that prided itself on impeccable customer service and superb selection. She wanted to create a store that harkened back to the places of business that she loved while growing up on the east coast—places that were simply known by the proprietors first or last name and that were always synonymous with a choice shopping experience.
