Wedding Guest Edit
The excitement of getting ready for a wedding… You put on the super cute dress you bought, your hair is looking on point. Lipstick: check. Perfume: check. Now shoes. You slip on those 6-inch heels, the ones you’re totally going to regret later, but you tell yourself they’re pretty and you head out the door. Thirty-minutes in, you’re cringing and ready to walk bare feet with your heels in hand. Well, this may come as a shock but, you don’t need to put yourself through this anymore!
Dress for comfort and longevity!
This season kitten and block heels are the shoes to be seen wearing. There are so many different styles and silhouettes to choose from for your day and night out. Dance and party in comfort while still look you’re best, because limping and shoes in hand is never a good look!
For this wedding ensemble, I chose a nude block heel by Celine. I love this sandal because it is dressy enough for a formal event yet so simple that you can layer on accessories and bold colors with being overkill. For summer weddings, there is always the possibility of having to walk and stand on grass. The block heel makes sure you won’t sink in and dirty your heels. The heel thickness and support are also perfect for dancing the night away.
You definitely don’t need to kill your feet in order to look fabulous.
Bring on the bold colors
We already know that Crayola brights are the new black this year. Color is also a go-to for weddings as white is usually off-limits. Pastels are fair game and super in this summer. However, we think brights are perfect for those outdoor, summer afternoon weddings.
I went with an off the shoulder hot pink sundress by Alexis, it’s super flirty and feminine! The polka-dots keep it casual and fun and the ruffles add some texture.
Statement earrings are huge this summer and are replacing the simple stud. This particular has been spotted on it girls and almost every runway. With mixed metals, color popping gemstones, edgy asymmetric designs, big hoops, dangling tassels, bold colors and shapes, the options are endless.
I’ve always felt like earrings really do pull a look together. I went with a pair by Rachel Comey. These earrings are some of my favorites. It’s really in the details here. The mix of neutral and bright colors create so much texture and dimension. I’m also obsessed with the shape. It’s bold and cool and looks different from every angle.
Put on those final touches
Now that you have your comfortable heels on, your bold dress, and your statement earrings, you’re almost set to head out to the wedding. But before you leave, there are two key particulars you should never go anywhere without- a good pair of sunnies and a cute clutch.
Before I left I grabbed my go-to Chloe sunnies. They were a perfect complement to my Rachel Comey earrings. For a bag, I went with my Cult Gaia. This bag is not only my obsession of the summer but it coordinated with all my other accessories. Now I’m ready to head off and drink some champagne. Cheers!
