Let’s talk about working from home fashion. Is there such a thing? I am finding it hard to motivate to get dressed every day and often succumb to sweats but I really do feel more productive if I mix it up.
Outside of The Particulars, I also am an early stage investor for female-founded brands and also a partner in a family hospitality group. Typically, I am travelling back and forth for meetings but since we are homebound, Zoom is where it’s at! I’ve been checking in with the teams on the regular and I have found that a business on top, comfy on the bottom look is a good match for my style. That said, if I can’t muster the strength to change out of my morning Sundry sweats and Mou slippers than I just throw on a blazer and blouse before I have to chat on video. This Isabel Marant blazer and blouse look polished but are not too tight or itchy to make it feel weird that I am wearing it at home. I also have my Chanel reading glasses and chain at all times.
This all black ensemble is courtesy of my pal (no pun intended!), Rachel Pally. She makes the best sets and jumpsuits that are comfortable but still look totally pulled together. And because this one is all in black, it looks streamlined and sensible.
I threw on a Mason Michel headband too to amp it up and of course paired this look with my furry Birkenstocks and High Heel Jungle socks. Cozy and chic.
As you know, I am a big proponent of the home workout and have been doing it long before we were in lockdown mode. It’s great that I can just get a sweat in at any time of the day, but it also means that sometimes I don’t change out of my workout gear for a minute. So, if I need to squeeze in a session with my trainer Amy Rosoff Davis or do Amanda Kloots on demand and then run to a call, I wear my fancy workout set by LNDR and throw on a cozy cardigan to top it off. This one is from Gucci and looks sporty. I like to wrap it around myself if I get chilly while the perspiration subsides. I also threw on a bandana neckerchief that could double as a mask if I needed to run out… double duty!
